Severe Weather Monitoring and Preparedness
The College of Southern Maryland is actively monitoring National Weather Service reports for severe weather, including high winds, thunderstorms, and tornado watches/warnings. Students, staff, and faculty are advised to review weather safety guidelines, be prepared to seek shelter, and monitor official alerts. Shelter in place instructions will be issued if hazardous weather is imminent.
CSM Safe App and CSM.TXT Emergency Notification Services
All CSM community members are urged to download the CSM Safe App and sign up for CSM.TXT alerts to receive instant notifications and instructions for emergencies, campus closings, delayed openings, and safety threats. These platforms provide real-time updates and guidance during campus emergencies.
Future Nightingales Endowed Scholarship Established at CSM to Support Future Nurses
The College of Southern Maryland Foundation partnered with the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians to establish a $57,500 endowed scholarship for nursing students, supporting those with financial need and aiming to strengthen the region's healthcare workforce.
