Hazardous Materials Release Protocol

If an outdoor or indoor hazardous materials release occurs, immediately report to 911 and seek shelter indoors. Close all doors and windows, shut off HVAC systems, and monitor official information sources. Do not leave shelter until advised by authorities.

Emergency Evacuation Procedures Active

All students and staff are reminded that in the event of a fire alarm or emergency, evacuation procedures must be followed. Building Marshals (Memunim) will direct evacuation; use stairwells, not elevators, and proceed calmly to designated assembly areas. Do not re-enter buildings until cleared by officials.

The New York Court of Appeals upheld state regulations requiring nonpublic and religious schools, including yeshivas, to provide education substantially equivalent to public schools. The ruling clarifies that the education department can determine compliance but cannot close schools or force student transfers.
